A Tribute to the A Series AKR 312K by Greg Walker

Given a new lease of life in 1991 (see article, "The Resurection and Restoration of AKR 312K") she was to rise and live again, to rise from the ashes like only a Phoenix can.

She was created to proudly cruise the highways and byways with all the poise and assurance of a true professional.

She reigned supreme for several years and was in a league of her own.

She was to continue to give immense pleasure to many enthusiasts at shows and magazine shoots all over the country.

Then fate took a hand. Hit from the rear, she never had a chance. Her once lustrous coachwork crushed to a pulp beyond redemption. Fine lines and form all distorted to a mangled mess.

Travelling to yet another pageant to display her winning charms was to be her undoing, to win a prize was her only desire.

Now only that great breaker in the sky stared her bleakly in the face. Her cold metal felt dead, berift of the life that once pulsated through her vibrant being.

Farewell my friend, you will be missed. You seved me well and I in return tended to your every whim.

1971 to 1995.

Greg Walker (Nov '95)
