 Manta A Rally Car

More club cars?

Owner: Clive Bayliss

It's a 1972 manta A I've owned and rallied for 10 years.

Powered by a genuine Manta 400 2.4 block with all steel crank and rods, big valve head with enem p2 camshaft. Carburation is by twin SU's for road rallying and Weber twin 55's for stage rallying.

A 5 speed professional Quaife gearbox, supplies power to a rose jointed steel torque tube and a 5:1 lsd manta axle with disc brakes. It is fully stage prepared with lots of trick mods to make it handle. It pushes 205 bhp and is extremely driveable on the SU conversion.

Looking slightly well used but has been the most reliable rally car I have ever owned.

As you can imagine I have a comprehensive stock of parts, panels and shells and 2 complete manta As in waiting and I am currently re-shelling the car this year into a te2800 replica, so any advice on sourcing the arches would be a bonus.

I also have a mould for the front spoilers should anyone need one which I turn out in fibreglass or kevlar for 100 pounds finished in black resin.
