Greetings from Darmstadt (near Frankfurt) in Germany, I'm Alonzo, owner of www.manta-der-film.de a website all about Manta movies. Bought this car March 06 and have carried out major restoration work and am happy to be near to completion.   It's been a hard slog to get it ready but I think it's ready to be shown now and hopefully will be there next year at Billing. Here is my 1987 GTE Exclusive coupe.
The only Manta B in South Africa Manta 400 spec shell originally built by Safety Devices and Jerry Johnstone Motorsport, RAC log book. Here's a few pics of my fleet of Mantas as of now ,there is one more in my shed which is getting the body work sorted out (blisters breaking out on the wings and arches). This is my 1988 Courtenay Turbo, finished in Starmist Black. Hi, this was an 1.8 Berlinetta up to 2 years ago, I bought the car from Scotland in 2004 and had it as work in progress every since.
Have had my Manta for 18 years now and it's been a great car and the only car I've had that three Garages wanted to buy off me, along with 30 other people and always attracts attention. My name is Dr.Π and I have had my Manta for about seven months now. 1985 Manta GT/E Coupe B780 RWD in almost original condition with just a few minor rust patches when last checked (like thumbnail size on boot rim). It's a 1984 GTE which I fitted the 400 kit through the summer she's been on the road since September and I'm getting round to upgrading the brakes ready for (hopefully) a 24v conversion... any help would be useful from the members.
I have just got this ex-works car from Norway and spent some time getting it back together. Got fed up with with Celica GT4 and M3's !!! Some recent pictures of my new Manta silver 2,  KYC 71V, my husband allowed me to buy this for my Christmas, I believe it came 2nd at Billing 2005 , Opel Manta B modified class. Finally, after three years mothballed in the garage, and a lot of hard work I managed to get the car through its MOT and down to Billing 05. Slightly different to when I first bought and used her on road rallies.
MANTA B Bj.1987 Irmscher Exclusive with 2.0E engine, many extras and will drive him in summertime. I bought this Manta GTE last year with 68000 miles on the clock. It had been fully restored, and it now resides in my garage in West Cork, Republic of Ireland. I have not long got my other Manta on the road, which was supposed to be a i240replica. I am the fourth owner, the previous owner was an elderly gentleman who was starting to let standards slip a little until I got my hands on it. Another beast from the Manta Dave's stable!!!!!!
MegaManta I'm from Dobrich, Bulgaria I'm from Dobrich, Bulgaria The car has had only one owner and covered 14000 miles since new, but is in need of work. Hi Manta folks, after selling my white GT/E, E45 URH just a while ago, I now have acquired a much better example.
This was my second car from passing my driving test, it was a 1.8S Berlinetta Coupe which I picked up at the Inverness Car auctions. I went along to buy a 2.0S Sierra but the Manta was parked in front of it and I just fell in love with it straight away. I had a budget of £700 but the last bid came down to me at £800. With some sweet talking to my girlfriend at the time I managed to get enough to buy the car. At this stage I had just bought myself the Manta without even checking the Insurance costs. I was to find this was quiet steep for an 18 Year old student. My first years policy was £1200 and that was for Third Party Fire and Theft!! She is a 1988 GTE Exclusive in Monaco Blue, which I purchased around April 2002 with 66k on the clock. The yellow beast has just been purchased by myself and is a very nice car, full stage prepared 170bhp motor, 15inch Revolutions, weld in cage, soon to be used on stage and road rallies. This car was originally a 1979 2.0 SR. It was purchased in January 1982, as a non-runner with no engine or rear axle, and a lot of rust. It is now a road legal hill climb competition car. First bought back in Jan 00, this car was a totally standard exclusive!!
Now then manta nuts, Steve Bamford ere from Goole, E Yorkshire, I've owned mantas for 7 years now and presently I'm driving this GTE coupe, E43 URH. I bought the car on the 6th of August 2003, for the grand sum of £50, with tax and test, the car needs A LOT of T.L.C. I am currently a member of the OMOC, attached is a pic of my car taken recently. It currently resides outside my house in Portslade, near Brighton. I bought this car when I was 18 and have had the car for 8 years now, it is an Opel Manta GTE Exclusive Coupe.  It was used for everyday use for the first 2 years as a 2ltr but I soon got tired of fantastic looks but a lack of performance. I bought this car (No. 4th Manta) from a Barry in London as a run-around, but after 4 minutes after driving away my brother who had taken me there, and filled his car with spares, slipped on the brakes and dented the rear. What could I say, I think he was more upset than I was. Nothing was even broken, even spare window glass in the boot. Luckily I saw the funny side and the car has ended up being another project which is probably just as well as the sills were in a worse way than I thought and it gives me time to sort out the rear arches and the sunroof.
This car was first registered on the 1st of August 1986 by a Mr J D Clark costing some £8500 plus, bought from a part exchange of an identical car only on an earlier 1983 A-plate. Until 2001 this car would remain with the same owner, cared for and lavished with new parts at the slightest sign of fault. I've owned this car for nearly 20 years, first imported in L.H.D. form and converted at my request to R.H.D. so I could live with it. I thought I'd send a picture of my manta (no.7!!). I recently bought her after 5 years of not owning a manta. I am a member of the club (5688) and have had UUM 203W for about three months. (A) ..picture from Sweden on our Endurance race car.........
I have had this baby since 1990 ..it's very reliable. From Greenhouses at Telford (Shropshire), this car has been in the family from new. This car has had extensive restoration work done on it by myself , then the 400 kit was fitted, managed to paint the car myself this summer. I bought this car back in '97, just as a run about whilst my other Manta was off the road having a V8 put in. but I can't leave anything alone and soon I had two Manta projects on the go (I bought an XR2 a couple of years ago as both Mantas were off the road!) 4 years ago this car was destined for the crusher, sitting in the scrapyard, until I rescued it.
E100 DMM - Manta B Exclusive, The grand total I've spent on this car has been £1800, so it's not bad for a mint exclusive. The object of this was to keep it totally original, or as much as I could. This is my 3rd Manta. I had a silver 1981 SR Berlinetta (PPJ188X) that I bought in November 1987 for £1750. Sadly that was written off in June 1989 after a head-on collision with a Vauxhall Cavalier (not my fault), but I sold it for £80.00 to a place that put it back on the road. I became the fourth owner of this car two years ago when  decided that I should stop driving a three box saloon. C336 OVJ 1986 Manta B GT/E, I'm the third owner of this car and I bought her when she was three years old in immaculate condition. On the 24th Dec 94 she had a rear shunt, unfortunately she was a write off. After 4 yrs in storage and a lot of nagging from my manta Rep, Ian Hill, to get her rebuilt, he found me an i200 as a donor car. Hi, my name is Stefano Arcangeli, I'm 31 and I live in Milan, Italy.
Dear OMOC please find enclosed a picture of my friends Opel Manta pictured at this years 'Yeovil Festival of Transport'. Hi there, Din0 here........ I thought I'd sent you a pic, but there is more, it's just scanning them in that's the problem. We had a good day to finish 61st from 150 starters on the Dukeries rally 21st June 2003 in Notts. Sherwood forest. Restored over best part of three years, all new panels except roof and floor pan. Manta B Exclusive, I've owned the car since 1991, and I'm currently the third owner. When I bought the car it had very low mileage but generally the car was quite tatty. Back in Nov 92 I totally stripped the underside of the car, removing the gearbox, axle, and fuel lines. I cleaned all the seams rust proofing it all and repainting the underside. It was a long job and off the road until 2 weeks before Billing in 93. And that was the first and last time it won the car of the show!
A666 MFC - Manta CC GT/E, Anne Norris originally owned the car and sold it on two years ago to Chris Bert who then sold it to me a year ago. This is the first year I've entered anything into the concourse, I was really surprised at winning, it was marvellous! FFV 452W - 1980 Manta B GT/J, I am the second owner of this car. I purchased the car in August 97, and on November the 16th it's going to be 20yrs old. It's not a daily runner and as it only comes out on fair & sunny days, it's basically a plaything for me. When I first bought the car, shall we say it was just driveable, and since then I've spent a small fortune on it I live in Armagh Northern Ireland, I have owned this car for about 3 years; it came with a 16v supercharged engine ,which I have totally stripped and rebuilt to a spec capable of handling the supercharger and nitrous. YXY 762 - Manta B Exclusive Modified, I'm the third owner of this car, which I've owned for about 4yrs now. The car was in concourse condition when I got it, and I did show it in the original class, but the reason I bought the car was to modify it and have spent in the region of £13500 doing just that BNJ 587T - 1979 Manta B SR Berlinetta. I was a member of the club until a few years ago and always found it very informative. I liked reading the club magazine but always felt as though the 'B' was the overlooked or boyed-up underdog.
awaiting text from owner! JEF 50W - 1980 Manta B 2.0 litre 16 valve Modified, I have had this car for 5 years now; I paid £200 for it, and the condition? Well it was ready for the breakers yard. It has taken all of 5 years to get it in the condition you see now and it's still an ongoing project. VDM 415W - 1980 Manta B GT/J, I have had this car for about 2yrs now. It has a 2.0ltr engine and as it's my daily drive, I cover about 300 miles a week in it. The reason it's not original is the fact it has electronic ignition and no body stripes. B747 XNA - 1985 Manta B GT/E, I bought the car brand new in 1985. I keep the car in the garage and in the time I've had it its not had a lick of paint or even a touch up whatsoever. I also have an i200 and as I can only afford to keep one on the road at a time I try to switch between the two. D120 TRN - 1986 Manta B GT/E Modified, I'm the second owner of this car and I've had the car for about 12yrs. When I first bought the car the colour was Carmine red, it was like new and had only covered 28k miles. I've added bits and pieces to the car over a period of years but it's only been the last three years that I've started doing major alterations.
