| I bought the
car on the 6th of August 2003, for the grand sum of £50, with tax and
test, the car needs A LOT of T.L.C.
New arches,
sills, front wings, but in good shape for a Manta which has done 259k
miles!!!! the doors are in good enough shape.
It has a
dodgy head lamp problem and a bit smokey (getting less smokey) and a
knackered radiator.
Some one at
some point has added the nice go faster stripe and the bump strips
(which will be removed) and a set of 6x9 on the rear shelf.
But it still
has the radio which it left the factory with. |

At
the moment I'm trying to find a garage for it (doesn't fit in mine) then
I will slowly fix it up, but being 17 means my insurance company, in
true polite manner, raised their middle finger at me (even though
they've insured me on a 16v cav).
So the intention
is have it ready for when I'm 21; ever since I was little I wanted a
Manta, they have an element of class and style that no new car has.
I know the
money I'll spend on it, I'll never get back on re-sale, but I don't
intend to sell it for a long time, if at all and when I saw this for
sale on the internet, I had to save it form the scrappy.
After the
early 80`s all cars are boring, with no style, I think the Cavalier is
bland, fast, but no style, just so many about; how often do you see a
Monza, Manta or Chevette on the way to work?
My
future plans are
to get the welding done, get it sprayed up, get it back to standard and
keep it for summer use, any information or comments or general
chat is more than welcome
