Manta CC GT/E

More club cars?

Owner: Jason Nichols

This is my 2nd Manta hatch picked up by me after having a blow out on the motorway and coming in late to work, lo and behold there's a Manta behind me.  We wave, stop off in a lay-by and talk briefly about Mantas, during which the question comes up 'Are you interested in another one' Unfortunately being bitten by the bug I duly say yes and a month later its all mine (no.7)!

The car is a bit different to my normal fold, being an imported white hatch GTE (correctly registered as new in the UK, with around 78k miles, with two owners and is in pretty good condition.  I have driven it for the past month and a half with no problems, although I replaced the rubber fuel lines in the engine area.

Lovely car to drive, holds the road better than my 1.8 hatch.

Car is solid, don't think its even been patched or needed a patch. Accessories fitted include an aftermarket tilt glass sunroof (nice), twin amps and trip computer fitted professionally into the cassette holder and cigarette area.  In addition to the more unusual stuff seen in this Manta, it also has rubber aftermarket alloy wheel protectors (fits between the calliper and wheel and keeps pad dust off the alloys) I don't like these particularly but they are different.

Also has had the centre rear panel in red in place of the rear plate, which has been affixed to the lower valence. Also twin front fogs and rear fogs have been fitted which makes it look a lot more symmetrical.  Almost everything electrical works including the rear wiper Intermittent feature, although the water gauge is not working (regulator I would imagine).

Bodywork is pretty good, with a few little dings and scrapes (London car), and a slight crease along the passenger door. Interior is very good, they had sheets on the back seats although there is a small patch by the Recaro on the drivers elbow that needs fixing as usual.

Tempted to start adding twin Cibies (although the 'squares' match the fogs), and  bodykit would not go amiss, but we will see what the future holds.

Although this is not an immaculate car its been really fun to drive and has so far given me not one spot of trouble and the sunroof is a definite bonus.  Worth it just for the looks from everybody!
