Opel
Manta B series (1981-88) GT/E by Paul Brennecker
Overview
The Manta GT/E, introduced to the UK in 1982, became the
top of the range model. With the Cam in Head 2.0 litre
fuel injected engine and uprated suspension, it gave the
Manta the sporting appeal that it needed. Recaro sports
seats gave a more supportive ride helped by the uprated
suspension - stiffer springs and gas dampers were
standard. Both Coupe and Hatchback body styles were
offered and featured 14" Ronal alloy wheels as
standard.
The
GT/E stayed in production up until 1987, when the GTE
Exclusive became the only 2.0l available for the final
year of production.
