1979 Manta B coupe in
Silver with Blue Diamond Velour Interior. I bought this car in 2005 from a club member in Mansfield, who had owned it for many years.
It has spent much of its life in the Nottinghamshire area but was originally registered at Hesketh Opel Dealers, in Towcester Northants - which by a strange twist of fate,
is only a few miles away from where it now resides! I have been lucky to find this car as it is in totally original condition and has been beautifully maintained....a real credit to its previous owners.

This particular car is fitted with sliding ATE calipers and occasionally sports a Webber Carb with K&N top filter but in order to keep it original, the GM Varijet
is exchanged for some shows. The ATS wheels have been bead blasted and powder coated in original Silver and new rubber fitted, as the tyres that were on the car when I bought her dated back to 1986!

I originally bought this car as a wedding present for Caroline, my wife and it was used as part of our wedding day transport, so it has a place in the family.
It has been to shows alonside my own i200 Coupe and we both enjoy driving the cars very much. Caroline likes to take her dad out for a spin on sunny weekends and always enjoys the looks that she gets whilst cruising!

It has been to shows alonside my own i200 Coupe and we both enjoy driving the cars very much. The Silver B has not failed any MOT's and has only just had its very first peice of welding done this year, to repair a small hole under the washer bottle.....not bad for a car over 30 years old.
It has been our main show car for the last few years, whilst the i200 takes a well earned break (afterall I have owned her for over 20 years now !!!) I think this one is definitely a keeper! |
