Safety, Lower Front Suspension Arms by William R Blankley

more by William Blankley

Check your lower suspension arms; I look for serious corrosion near the lower ball joint and especially at the front under the steering lockstop bracket. How do I describe the thing? It sticks out in front at the outside end and has the job of preventing the steering going too far.

Yes, mine let go. Bronze Dragon parked herself neatly in the curb two hundred yards from home. It took me two days to spot the trouble after we limped the last little bit home. So I was thicker than usual, but did not have time to remove wheels, just looked. Apparently she is the victim of stress corrosion cracking. Now I have trouble because I cannot find the right tools to remove the sway bar from the rubber bush in the suspension arm, Sykes Pickavant did not help and I am stuck! The power of prayer is marvellous but now it looks like change the whole cross-member. Motto: - Don’t windge, do the job William, it takes less time.

If you have ever had that certain feeling that you have been spared for some purpose well, this felt to me like one of those times. Perhaps I am to be "Dish of the Day" at some celestial banquet? Thanks a lot and my toilet is recovering from the good cuddling it got.
